Discussing NASA’s Artemis 1 Launch

Artemis 1 is a planned un-crewed test flight for NASA's Artemis program. It is the first flight of the agency's Space Launch System super heavy-lift launch vehicle and the first flight of the Orion MPCV. Artemis 1 is expected to launch February 2022. Hear from Comm Systems Project Manager, Yves Lamothe as he takes us on a behind the scenes look at the mission and how they are preparing for the launch next month.

A 5:00pm pre-show will take place with an interactive talk from an Intrepid Museum Educator.

The event is hosted and co-produced by John “Das” Galloway, founder of the Kerbal Space Academy.

This program is supported through a NASA Cooperative Agreement awarded to the New York Space Grant Consortium.

Yves Lamothe currently serves as the Communications Element Integration Team (EIT) Project Manager for the Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) Command Control and Communication (C3) Division. In this capacity, Yves provides team leadership to the EGS Communications EIT for the design, development, operations and sustaining of all communications systems across the Kennedy Space Center in support of EGS.
